GONZALES — As a result of federal funds coming into Louisiana since hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the state now has the best chance to change how it has been doing business for years, U.S. Rep. Bobby Jindal, R-Kenner, said Thursday.

“In five years, people are going to be asking what did we do to improve our state when we had the best opportunity to do so,” Jindal said. Unfortunately, he said, the “same red tape that hindered rescue efforts during the hurricanes is now hindering recovery.”
