Jindal Calls for Common Sense

(excerpt)

Jindal, R-Kenner, spoke at the Lafayette Rotary Club luncheon, and though a helpful Rotarian placed a “Jindal-for-governor” placard in front of Jindal’s podium, the congressman was not biting.

Jindal also said the state and federal governments have been lacking in common sense, and he wants to see that change. He said that elected officials often lose sight of why they were elected.

Jindal said he is worried that the basic work of recovery has suffered. He said he has seen problems already, as the billions of dollars the federal government has dedicated to the Gulf Coast recovery are not evident in the work being done on the ground.
