BAKER FOR GOVERNOR!

THE DEAD PELICAN
BY CHAD E. ROGERS

The prospects for a G.O.P. majority in the upcoming November congressional elections are dim.

Every major poll indicates that the Republican majority in the U.S. House of representatives will end in November. The foreseen Democratic takeover and subsequent loss of Republican clout may prevent Congressman Richard Baker from any powerful, coveted chairmanship that he'd previously hoped for.

With these hopes dashed, sources inside Baker's office are now telling THE DEAD PELICAN that Baker is looking at a run for governor, in Louisiana's next gubernatorial bid!

LPNS COMMENTARY: IT APPEARS THAT THE POWERS-THAT-BE AT THE CAPITOL ARE NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK TRYING TO STOP BOBBY JINDAL WITH THE TWO UNKNOWN MILLIONAIRE CANDIDATES. NOW THEY ARE LOOKING TO TRY IT WITH A GUY WHO HAS BEEN ON THE PUBLIC (STATE/FEDERAL) PAYROLL FOR OVER 35 YEARS, A TEN-TERM INCUMBENT CONGRESSMAN.

CHANGE IS DEFINATELY NOT WHAT THESE FOLKS ARE LOOKING FOR!
