BIG VOTE FOR BIG OIL IN SENATE TODAY!

CONFLICT OF INTEREST WITH ADLEY AND SB 655?

The Dead Pelican
by Chad Rogers

Sen. Robert Adley's SB 655 is stirring quite some controversy, THE DEAD PELICAN has learned. Some believe the bill presents conflicts of interests involving himself and "Big Oil," companies sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN.

The property owners who are affecting by Adley's dealings have given him the name Robert "Slick" Adley, an apparent reference to "oil" slicks, THE DEAD PELICAN has learned.

Sources say that Adley is trying to pass Senate Bill 655, which basically gives big oil companies amnesty on oil field cleanup. It will also allow the Department of Natural resources to take private property from homeowners while imposing a minimal six inch cleanup rule on oil companies, sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN.

Sen. Adley , the author of this bill, has said in his official biography that he is on the Board of the LIOGA, the special interest group that, along with big oil companies, is promoting this bill. The group that Adley is connected to has drilled 100 oil wells on Louisiana land, and the wells have left considerable pollution. The organization is also the supplier of natural gas to governments all over the state.

In other words, some claim that the bill is designed to give Adley and his friends on the board a "pass," so they won't have to clean up the oil spills that they have created.

Some obviously see this as a conflict of interest.
