Blanco agency to hire new staffers
Capitol news bureau
Now that Gov. Kathleen Blanco’s Louisiana Recovery Authority is an official state agency, it’s gotten permission to hire 30 unclassified staffers.
The group guiding Louisiana’s efforts to undo hurricane damage obtained state Civil Service Commission approval for the new state employees, who will be subject to hiring and firing — at will — by the agency.
The authority has been borrowing from other agencies since its formation in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The commission gave limited life for the jobs until 2011.
LPNS COMMENTARY: If you add up all the new staffers, consultants, consultants staffers, contractors and contractor's staffers hired by Blanco and serving at her pleasure you will clearly see she is running for re-election.
If our legislators in their infinate wisdom continue to allow her to built this mega-governor's office/propaganda machine we will all pay the price, 4 more years of the worst governor in the history of Louisiana!
